Getting outdoors and Photography for mental health

Discussing the benefits of getting outdoors whatever the weather. Its effects on mental health, and how engaging in absorbing activities can vastly improve mental wellness.
Getting outdoors and mental health awareness
Poor mental health can adversely affect many areas of our lives. Personally, I have discovered that spending time outdoors and pursuing a passion for photography has greatly contributed to a more positive mindset. Engaging in absorbing activities such as art, sports, music or hobbies is widely believed to be a very successful way to look after not only our physical health but our mental health too.

Participating in these kinds of activities can have a positive impact on our mental health and overall well being. Studies suggest that individuals who have hobbies are less likely to experience stress, anxiety, and depression. Participating in outdoor activities can also have a significant impact on your mood, leaving you feeling happier and more relaxed. It's important to remember that finding small things that help lift our mood or ease anxiety is a personal journey unique to each individual. So, take the time to explore what works best for you.

This could be as simple as taking a walk in nature, prioritising our sleep. Some individuals are capable of following the Zen path of mindfulness and meditation. I haven't had much success with this method personally, and I find meditation challenging. However, I have discovered that outdoor photography has been an effective way to care for my mental health. Your journey is of course personal to you and should be adapted to suit your own particular needs.
